This past weekend my mom and I went to Nantucket for the Holiday Stroll. We took the ferry from the Cape Friday morning and arrived by noon. It was my first trip to the island and as soon as I saw the lighthouse from the boat, I knew that I was in love.
The town was COVERED in Christmas decorations and trees. Everywhere you looked there were bows, lights and festive sights. People dressed up in some of the best holiday outfits I've seen in some time. (I wish I had more pictures to show, but the ones on my phone came out a little fuzzy.)
We spent the first day visiting the shops, going on a house tour, and indulging our taste buds at way too many of Nantucket's great restaurants.
The next day was happily more of the same. (Who doesn't love discovering beautiful places, shopping til you drop and eating gourmet cuisine?! Why would we change a thing?) The town was so beautiful and quaint... I couldn't help but imagine what it must have been like to live there a couple of hundred years ago.
You may remember from this post that I have been eyeing this Ellsworth and Ivey Cape for ages. Imagine how excited I was to find it for half off at one of Nantucket's shops. I'm in love! It's even prettier than I imagined and I know that I'll wear it for years to come. Finding it on sale was definitely the icing on top of the cake. Can't wait to return to the Nantucket Holiday Stroll next year!
