Soooo, it's been a while. I apologize for being MIA. I'd love to tell you that I met a mysterious stranger and we traveled the world for the past year, sipping cocktails on the Thames, watching New Years fireworks in Sydney, traveling Venice by boat....but, that was just between 11 pm and 7 am. The rest of the time, I was concentrating on growing a business from the ground up. During the last months of my blog, I began to realize that I was spreading myself too thin between blogging, my job, my friends, etc. I wasn't able to put 100% into anything and I realized I needed to focus on one thing at a time for a while. So, for the foreseeable future, I decided career first, friends and family second, blog, on hold.
By way of background, it's been a year and a half since I quit my corporate job to become a Realtor and I couldn't be happier, though it's been a bit scary and a lot of work. I learned the steps to running a successful business in school, but school is school and real life is real life. School didn't fully prepare me for how much would have to go into growing a business when doing it all on your own.
It's definitely a learning experience, but I'm absolutely loving it. I feel like I have created a foundation for my business to grow and know what I need to do moving forward. (Now if only I could get myself to be a little more agressive and go out and do it!) Baby steps, people. Baby steps. What I'm saying is, at the end of the day, I'm proud of how my real estate career is going. Though the idea of straight commission is definitely nerve racking and completely frustrating at times, I'm confident that in the next year or so I'll be in a solid position career wise.
But guess what happened when I was concentrating on my career? I realized that when I'm not talking about work, I'm chatting about interior design, what I should eat for my next meal, or fun activities to do with my friends. Hmmm....sounds like a blog, doesn't it? I would be talking more about clothes too but Sarah is the only one I know who cares about fashion as much as I do. So, I figured, if I'm still talking about these things, why don't I just start my blog again?
This time around is going to be slightly different for me...it has to be. In the past, I was so focused on the perfection of my posts, I often got frustrated when things didn't come out as well as I'd planned. I'm trying to take the pressure off this time around - no guarantees - and do my blog because I truly enjoy what I am writing about.
I'm not a perfect photographer, I don't get all dolled up everyday though I probably should and truly admire the people that have that type of time. Frankly, my life doesn't look nearly as perfect as other people's Instagram posts. And that's OK. This blog is going to focus on what I'm interested in, and the people, places and interiors that I find perfection in. I'm grateful for all that have followed along so far and look forward to hearing from more of you in the months and years ahead.
Outfit Details: Joie Dress, Gucci Loafers, Tory Burch Bag (similar)
